@[email protected] I wonder if you'll be listening to and discussing Star Trek: Khan. I'd definitely enjoy your perspective on it.
Samsung,
This is the second phaser you've sent me that exploded during shipping. If you wish to kill me, you will have to try harder.

I listened to the first episode of the new Star Trek: Khan podcast, and I'm really loving it so far. If was awesome to hear @[email protected] and Tim Russ as Sulu and Tuvok again. The story is promising.
Apparently, it's bad luck to mention a "MacBook" in a software company. You have to call it "the Scottish laptop".
In a rare outing in DC to a public restaurant, President Trump dined at Joe’s Seafood this evening with a disruption inside by protesters waving Palestinian flags and small banners, according to radio pool reporter Sagar Meghani.
I had a pretty crappy day yesterday, and today was pretty bleugh as well.
And then I watched the pilot episode of The Paper, the sequel to The Office, and I was pretty much smiling the whole time. I loved how they connected it to the former series in a natural way. I love the dynamics of the cast. I love that it's not just a repeat of The Office, but still carries in its spirit. It was so good, in my opinion.
My wife was listening in on one of my work calls today. It was a collab session to debug a security issue with my team lead.
She has told me many times before how weird it is for her to listen to my "work voice", because it's so different than my regular day-to-day. I'm a really chill, "go with the flow" kind of person. But she says that in work mode, I'm more assertive, and have like an air of authority and confidence that I don't normally show.
She told me today that I really should be in a leadership position. I've been Team Lead before in a previous job. I enjoy it well enough, and have told my manager that I'd be happy to do it again. But, today was a very collaboration-heavy day, and to be honest, I don't really enjoy these days very much. Don't get me wrong. I get stuff done working with others, and I'm not anti-social, or anything like that. But most of the time, I'd really just rather just work on my own crap on my own. And I know from experience that a Technical Lead, while still a developer who spends plenty of time coding, still has to spend a lot of other time doing other things, like supporting the junior devs, and planning, etc. And mostly, I just want to write some code.

Oh, you’re afraid of fucking side effects? Fuck you. You know what has fucking side effects? Fucking aspirin, fucking Tylenol. You could be fucking allergic to pineapple, you fucking fuckwit. Everything has side effects. You’re being a big fucking baby with a huge diaper full of fucking diarrhea, complaining about maybe feeling slightly tired for a day or two.
I work for a software and DevOps consultancy firm, which means that I get an assignment to build software for one of my company's customers. (I'm on a US DOD cybersecurity contract).
I'm sitting in the monthly All-Hands meeting, and I had to turn off my camera, because I didn't want everyone to see how much I'm rolling my eyes right now.
Our Chief Digital Officer says that a recent MIT study shows that only 5% of new software projects built on AI actually make it to market. And that's why we have to go all in on AI to fill that market gap where others are failing.
He also started by saying that as we move towards AI-focused work, we're doing so to "distinguish ourselves". Yeah. We're going to "distinguish ourselves" by jumping into the bandwagon that everyone else is jumping into.

Thank you to all the “helpers” on here who have lifted me and my students up over and over again. School begins TODAY 😬 and this is my last push to set up my classroom for at least the next couple of months.
Please help if you can…boosting helps too!! 💜 ~Salty
