If anybody has DMed me in the past day, or just liked/replied to my posts, I haven't seen it. There's something wrong with my instance. I'm not getting any new content for the past day, but I think stuff is still going out.

Sadly, the software I use is no longer supported by its developer, so it's on me to figure out what's wrong.

Well, I think I figured out why I got nothing coming in.

My inbox got backlogged. My fedi instance has one service that processes incoming posts one at a time. And it's running on my personal machine. It works fine for a single user insurance most of the time. It can usually take a couple minutes at most for an incoming post to get processed and show up in my feed.

However, it seems that about a day ago us.fedimeteo.com started sending me posts constantly for every single account on their server (thousands, maybe?), even though I'm only following one of them that sends only a few a day. So, my server was getting bombarded by incoming posts, and my incoming queue got backlogged.

I unfollowed that one account, but I'm still being inundated. So, I had to block the server and delete all of their queued posts from my incoming. I would do an IP block as well so it doesn't even reach the server, but they don't come from a single IP address.

I wonder how many other fedi instances are being DDOSed by fedimeteo.
