Writers, embrace #ChatGPT. It's a tool, just like a typewriter or keyboard, that you can use to write better and more efficiently. Here are a few ways you can use it to improve your writing process (1/8)
A thread 🧵
How did this happen?
Got these for my birthday.
The twin bat'leths are reproductions of the Sword of Kahless.
I actually was only supposed to get one, but it got lost in the mail, so they sent me another one for free, then the original showed up.
If Trump goes to prison, I’m concerned he might easily escape.
He’ll get one of those orange jumpsuits. Then, if he finds an orange wall to stand next to, he’s basically invisible.
Loss, like a wound, does not heal overnight. As the days pass, let the empty space fill with memories, let the sorrow be replaced with gratitude for the good times, the kind words, and most of all, the part of them that made you who you are.
I remember when Aaron Swartz was criminally prosecuted for downloading too many academic journal articles, but, sure, it's totally cool to scrape everyone's personal photographs as part of a commercial effort to market discriminatory surveillance tech to police departments.
New #anime cour, so here's what I've watched from the new batch so far, and my thoughts.
The Dangers in my Heart, a.k.a., Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu: Well, this one is very weird. It's about a psychopathic kid who fantasizes about killing people, especially, a particular classmate of his, and how she befriends him. It's pretty messed up, but it's mostly played like a school comedy where the bubbly girl gets the loner boy to come out of his shell. Honestly, if I end up dropping an anime, it'll probably be this one.
Hell's Paradise, a.k.a., Jigokuraku: Set in the feudal era, about a shinobi who has killed a lot of people. He's a criminal who is trying to get a pardon from the Shogun by finding some sort of mystical Elixir of Life. This one looks like it's pretty interesting, but I can't really tell for sure yet, since the main plot hasn't really started yet. I'll keep watching, at least for now.
My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lvl 999, a.k.a. Yamada-kun to Lv999 no Koi o Suru: Teenage love triangle between some MMORPG gamers. Girl starts playing this game to spend time with her boyfriend, until he dumps her for another girl he met in the game. She keeps playing, and then tricks some other guy in the game into pretending to be her boyfriend to make her ex jealous. It's cute. Entertaining enough. I'll keep watching.
I'll add on to this thread as I watch more series premieres.

The #TimeTravelAuthors tag will be active again for April! Anyone who writes #TimeTravel in any capacity (eg #WIP) is welcome to join in. This post will be pinned to my timeline soon.
I do try to respond to tagged posts as I'm able. Amplify as you can, and enjoy reading.
Problems, let me know, praise can be sent to @juliebihn for initiating it on Twitter. (You can now give her a follow here too!)
I accidentally ate a licorice jelly bean. 🤢
Why are these things even legal?
You can thank me for this later, but you need to listen to this Hamilton/Space Jam mashup: Slamilton

@vyr Also if you use a Mac released this decade or an iPhone/iPad/Android device—basically anything except an old-school PC—you're using an ARM processor and that architecture was designed by Sophie Wilson, who is trans. It's the most widely used computer architecture. Computing this century is trans.
#WritingWonders 4.1 — Intro Day. Tell 2 truths and 1 lie about your WIP.
Intro: I'm R.S. and I write #feminist #novels, #novellas less often, and rarely #shortstories. #Photography is my short form and I plan to post pretty pictures soon. My stories are Science Fiction Fantasy and I use the tag #SFF to mean that. I realized long ago that most science fiction stories contain irreality, ranging from speculation about FTL- and time-travel to interactions with alien civilizations. However, SF has two qualities I consider special. The reader must be able to understand enough to predict what would happen and the story needs to address the effects of technology upon people. With this firmly in mind, I also write stories with magic systems and about the effects these have on people. All my stories are character driven.
Here are three statements about one of my works in progress. One is a lie. Vote for the lie.
Consider boosting this poll for a better sample size.

Question for those who say prosecuting a former president sets a dangerous precedent:
Isn’t it more dangerous to set a precedent that a former president will never face accountability if they broke the law?
I haven't really written in a few months. I've been kind of out of it.
But I've had an idea rattling around in my brain for a while, and decided to finally start some work on it, even if just a little bit.
So, I'll be doing #WritingWonders again in April with this short story/novella (not sure how long it'll be yet).
It's untitled as of yet, but it's a retelling of Wizard of Oz, in which Dorothy is a time traveler.
Day 1. Intro Tell two truths and one lie about your story.
- Scarecrow will be an AI who wants real human intelligence.
- Toto will be a Samoyed.
- Dorothy will be a PhD student at MIT researching quantum wormholes.
When you ask #ChatGPT to give you lines from Samuel L. Jackson films, it will do so, but will add this disclaimer at the end of its response.
Via Amanda Carpenter:
Can I ask one favor?
Every time a Republican says something about how the indictments will set the country on fire, rip it apart, or cause civil war can you ask one little follow up question?
WHO is going to cause the violence and how do you know this to be true?
Pls and thx
